  1. Hi

I’m really interested in these new smart watches I think they’re an amazing idea. I do like Apple products personally and have a Mac and an iPhone.

It is interesting to see what the Samsung Gear has to offer though. Especially the part about the personalised fitness motivator. This is something I could really use.

Is this particular aspect as good or better than the Apple equivalent? Thanks, Tim

    1. Hi Tim…

Personally, I’m more of a connoisseur of Apple products, so anything Apple related I tend to have more of a subjective opinion. However, I can say that Samsung is very innovative with technology and their smart phones and watches offer features that Apple may lack… plus their products are less expensive. Needless to say, I don’t think you can go wrong either way (it’s all about personal preference).

      Thanks

  2. I have known that there are all kinds of cool technology and gadgets out there like 3-D printers and what not out there. The problem is unless the cool device/gadget spreads like wildfire like iPhones did, it gets missed by almost everyone else. Your blog is awesome because it raises awareness of the cool gadgets folk might have missed. As for this post, the Samsung Gear S2 seems like a good idea in that you can access your iPhone’s updates without having to constantly pull out your iPhone from your pocket repeatedly. A watch form is indeed much more convenient to look out. Hopefully, a full fledged iPhone in watch form eventually comes out.

    1. Hey Bobby-

You’re right… there are a plethora of new gadgets coming out literally everyday. I try and find gadgets that are trending and bring more exposure to them.

With regard to the S2… it’s actually compatible to the Samsung Galaxy Smartphone. And the iWatch is the new smartwatch for the iPhone.

      Thanks for your comments!

  3. Wow, great review. This Gear S2 looks really nice. I have the newest Sony Smart Watch but it doesnt do all the cool stuff the gear does. I will be looking to buy a new one soon because they are very useful and Galaxy has a few cooler features that I definitely want to invest in. Thanks for this information!

  4. I have been curious about smart watches since they were first released. I always wonder if they are actually quite as “smart” as they are made out to be. I just can’t imagine it being all that practical to use being that they it is such a small size! Forgive me if I’m wrong!

Great review though anyway. You’ve peaked my curiosity even more now!
    Hannah.

    1. Hi Hannah-

Smartwatches are very innovative and a great compliment for your smartphone. Personally, I have the Applewatch and love it. However I know some folks who own the Gear S2 and they continue to boast about how much more they can do with their watch. Either way smartwatches can be a great addition to your phone… continue your research to see if a smartwatch would be a good fit for you.

      Thanks

  5. Great review! First I like the watch form design of the Samsung Gear S2, it is what it should be in terms of UX, User eXperience, this design approach is indisputable and certainly is the way forward.

IMHO, the future version should be made slimmer, it will certainly attract more female wearer. S2 will be exceptional if it can measure my blood pressure, that is great for a senior citizen like me. Thank you.

    1. Hi Fred

I agree… a future version of the S2 should be made slimmer to attract the female audience. I also like your suggestion for senior citizens. Fred- you appear to be very tech savvy… Samsung needs you on their P&D team.

      Thanks!
